E-Filing and direct deposit of tax refunds

The IRS states that nine out of 10 e-filed tax returns with direct deposit will be processed within 21 days of IRS e-file acceptance.
Amending tax returns
Tax returns can be amended within three years from the date you filed your original tax return or within two years of the date you paid the tax, whichever is later.
